my name is mimi. i was born in china, grew up in canada, and now live in the UK with my partner and our cat, molly

ever since i was a little girl, i knew i wanted to create & customize pointless websites using an incredibly limited understanding of html ૮ ᴖﻌᴖ ა

other than web design, some of my interests include:

music - alvvays, björk, caroline polachek, charli XCX, cocteau twins, d'angelo, erykah badu, FKA twigs, frou frou, grace ives, grimes, jai paul, japanese breakfast, joanna newsom, kate bush, kelela, lorde, mariah carey, oklou, the pharcyde, pinkpantheress, robyn, santigold, solange, the supremes, tennis, & more.

film - angela (1995), bones and all (2022), charade (1963), days of heaven (1978), double indemnity (1944), fallen angels (1995), lake mungo (2008), muriel's wedding (1994), the three colours trilogy, & more. i'm obsessed w/ the divas of the silver screen, from bette davis to shah rukh kahn ;-) +sometimes i write daft reviews on letterboxd!

literature - i mostly read lit fic. some of my favourite books include the idiot, middlemarch, milkman, picnic at hanging rock, salvage the bones, severance, sula, and villette. i consider myself a fan of the works of elif batuman, elena ferrante, toni morrison, and maggie nelson. add me on goodreads if you have a similar taste in books!!!

misc. - cats (especially molly ); fantasy premiere league; making fan-edits for films i love; playing overcooked; and sustainable/slow fashion. i'm currently learning how to sew and it's kind of taking over my life!
